8INDIAREVIEWDECEMBER, 2025INDIA, DENMARK DEEPEN HEALTH, AGRICULTURE, GREEN TIES NOWRecently, Punya Salila Srivastava (Union Health Secretary) and the Danish delegation led by Danish Ambassador to India Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen met to explore the potential for strengthening bilateral cooperation between India and Denmark in the areas of Health, Food and Agriculture.The focus of their discussions were the Green Strategic Partnership Agreement signed in November, 2019 between India and Denmark whereby both sides reaffirmed their commitment to working together under this banner.India-Denmark cooperation continues to grow across various sectors, including the India-Denmark green partnership, India-Denmark health ties, India-Denmark agriculture collaboration, and broader India-Denmark bilateral relations, with a strong focus on India-Denmark sustainability initiatives.During this dialogue session, both sides were able to express common objectives regarding creating a resilient and sustainable future ready health system that benefits both countries as partners.It is essential that both countries work together in order to develop a better health system for both countries and advance the overall objectives of the Green Strategic Partnership agreement for enhanced cooperation between Both Countries throughout multiple sectors (Health, Energy, Environment, Food, etc.).In a post on X, the ministry stated, "Union Health Secretary Ms Punya Salila Srivastava met with the Danish delegation led by His Excellency Mr Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen, Ambassador of Denmark to India, to discuss ongoing and emerging areas of cooperation. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening Denmark-India collaboration in health, food and agriculture and to advancing the Green Strategic Partnership. The discussions underscored a shared vision of building resilient, sustainable and future-ready systems for the benefit of both nations".India and Denmark upgraded their relationship to a Green Strategic Partnership in September 2020, which was a repeat of the existing Joint Commission for Cooperation ter. The Strategic Partnership, first presented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen at a virtual summit, envisages the further cooperation in political, economic, scientific and technological, educational, and cultural areas.The partnership also strengthens the existing Joint Working Groups in essential sectors like renewables, urban growth, agri-tech, food processing, and digitization. It targets to facilitate trade and investments, support eco-friendly growth, and develop global solutions, with the emphasis on the vigorous execution of the Paris Agreement and the UN Sustainable Development Goals during the entire period of the partnership. Both countries will thus drive sustainable development and provide long-lasting benefits to their populations. IMRTata Steel Limited entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited, which is non-binding, to examine collaborative opportunities in areas such as mining, logistics, pellet manufacturing and steel production.Lloyds Metals, Managing Director, B Prabhakaran signed the MoU with Tata Steel's CEO and Managing Director T V Narendran. The Lloyds Metals Tata Steel MoU marks a significant step towards mining collaboration in India, with both companies exploring steelmaking partnership opportunities, Tata Steel mining projects, and expanding Lloyds Metals agreement in the growing India steel industry.In addition to investigating possible synergies between the two companies, the MoU is also centred around finding areas for joint ventures in the areas of greenfield steel production, iron mining, slurry pipelines, pelletising and exporting low-carbon iron and steel and has a strong focus on Gadchiroli, Maharashtra, India, where it will explore opportunities for collaboration related to mining concessions, infrastructure development and increasing the production of iron ore.Tata Steel will help ease Lloyds Metal through projects where they want to do integrated steel making. Other than that, Lloyds Metal will complete all the necessary evaluations, including due diligence and get approvals from all required departments within Tata Steel and all regulatory bodies.Recently, Tata Steel received a controlling interest of 50.01% in Brahmani River Pellets Limited which has a pellet plant in the state of Odisha and also operates a 212 Kilometer slurry pipeline.Tata Steel has the ability to produce an annual crude steel output of 35 million tons. Lloyds Metal is now the company that is operating India's largest iron ore mine located in Gadchiroli, and is also expanding their ability to manufacture integrated steel.
