Rishi Laser: Advancing Steel Fabrication through Laser Technology

Harshad Patel , Managing Director

The steel industry in India is growing rapidly, and it has earned its place as the second largest producer of steel in the world, whose market growth and capacity addition is the most rapid. Increase in crude steel production is projected from 205 million tons per year in 2025 to 300 million tons in 2030-31, resulting due to the growth of infrastructure, manufacturing and export demand.

The advent of new fiber laser cutters however, has commoditized the steel cutting process, reducing equipment prices by 75% and improving productivity by 100 percent. The result of this trend has been the proliferation of small-scale cutting facilities near communities in the style of ubiquitous photocopying centers and replacing the traditional technologies of Plasma and Oxyfuel cutting.

Rishi Laser stands out as a comprehensive solution provider, delivering top-tier flat steel cutting services through its expansive and technologically advanced infrastructure. The company has 18 CNC Laser cutting machines that are distributed in five states and with steel cutting capacity of 30,000 tons per year, has a total of 140 square meters under laser beam, and 90 KW of Laser power.

This substantial scale directly tackles the service deficiencies of smaller shops by ensuring reliable, high-volume processing with superior efficiency.

Smart Manufacturing Excellence

One of the most prominent features is one of the largest Laser cutting machines in India, with a 3m x 12m bed and two laser sources and advanced groundbreaking intelligent software capable of processing various thickness and size at the same time to the fullest throughout and flexibility, in addressing the needs of various clients.

The company's robust IT backbone plays a pivotal role in its solutions, facilitating seamless online order processing, real-time monitoring, and stringent quality controls. This technological integration eliminates common pitfalls like delays and errors, offering a stark contrast to the disorganized smaller facilities.

Moreover, the in-house training center is devoted to the upskilling of the operators, so that they will know how to achieve maximum quality and productivity, which in its turn will ensure a uniform performance and satisfaction of the clients with the way everything is run.

Rishi Laser promises to consolidate the fragmented market, elevating overall standards & reliability

Expansion & Future Outlook

The recent setting up of a new cutting service center at Vadodara, capable of cutting 10,000 tons/annum, is a pilot for the supply of precision-cut parts to SME’s and for small batch requirements. This model will be duplicated across the country with service centers that serve a radius of 150 km and specialize in making fast and low-priced deliveries to small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

By leveraging strong IT systems for online transactions, Rishi Laser aims to drastically cut costs and enhance delivery speeds, fostering accessibility and efficiency in the sector.

The competitive advantage of Rishi Laser is supported by its high installed capacity, strategic presence in North, West, and South India, good capability to slice up to 40 mm thick, and 12 meters long parts and a highly skilled workforce.

These strengths enable comprehensive service to key sectors such as yellow goods, railways, electrical, and automotive, where precision and dependability are critical.

Looking ahead, Rishi Laser aims to scale up service centers and promises to consolidate the fragmented market, elevating overall standards and reliability. Through continuous innovation, operational excellence, and a customer-focused approach, the company not only resolves prevailing industry pain points but also propels sustainable advancement in India’s dynamic steel sector, cementing its role as a leading force in sheet metal cutting services.
