- Sunren Telecom Lab
Sunil J Shenoy , Founder & Managing Director
The global electronics and telecom testing sector is racing against twin forces: break-neck innovation and tightening regulation. 5G/6G roll-outs, AI-driven devices, EVs, IoT ecosystems and semiconductor miniaturisation demand unprecedented proof of safety, interoperability and sustainability.
Governments are being clear with their mandates. India’s MTCTE, BIS CRS, WPC ETA and new cybersecurity regulations will line up next to EU CE, FCC, UKCA and Japan PSE.
Manufacturers face diminishing timeframes to enter markets, complicated multi-region filings and an absolute intolerance towards failures in the field. In this high-stakes environment, speed, accuracy and unquestionable data are the only currency that matters.
Founded two decades ago, becoming India’s first NABL-accredited telecom laboratory, Sunren Telecom Lab today operates as an MTCTE and BIS designated CAB, delivering a single-window solution that collapses months into weeks.
From a 8500 sq-ft campus in Mumbai, multiple domain engineers run parallel streams of Telecom, Wireless, Safety, EMC, Environmental and 5G UE testing under one ISO/IEC 17025 roof.
Clients global OEMs, Indian champions and start-ups alike receive one test plan, one purchase order and one traceable report accepted across multiple regulators.
Innovation at Core
What truly separates Sunren is the deliberate rejection of volume-driven testing. Each project is assigned a Lead Engineer who assumes full responsibility for its execution, from project initiation through to final completion and approval.
A home-grown LIMS platform automates 92 percent of workflows, tracks samples in real time and flags anomalies before they become re-tests. Multi-level technical + quality reviews mandated by an internal “Zero Escape” policy ensure measurement uncertainty is quantified, not assumed.

Innovation is hard-wired, not bolted on. Sunren’s 5G NR test-bed accredited weeks ahead of peers validates FR1 Sub- 6 GHz and mm Wave user equipment for NSA/SA modes, NB-IoT and Cat-M1 in a single cycle.
An AI anomaly engine now scans 2.4 million data points per day, catching drift 48 hours earlier than manual review. “Our cloud-backed data vaults and role-based access meet GDPR and MeitY standards, giving clients bullet-proof audit trails for litigation or investor due-diligence,” says Pratik, Director, Sunren Telecom Lab.
Safety Meets Strategy
Safety testing keeps pace with policy. Having secured fresh BIS recognition for IS/IEC 62368-1 in India (Audio/ Video & ICT equipment) months before enforcement, Sunren is already migrating 1,200+ SKUs for clients. Parallel CE/ UKCA safety + RED radio packages cut European launch cycles from 14 to 8 weeks.
Environmental chambers simulate 85°C/85 percent RH for 1,000 hours while vibration tables replicate 20-year logistics abuse data that feeds reliability models for DFM teams.
Customer obsession is measured, not marketed. A 24×7 WhatsApp bridge, live dashboard and fortnightly “Compliance Pulse” newsletters keep product managers ahead of TEC/BIS gazettes.
When a tier-1 handset maker faced a surprise MTCTE cybersecurity clause, Sunren’s regulatory cell drafted the gap matrix, ran penetration tests and delivered the amended report in 11 days, saving a Diwali launch.
The Road ahead
Looking ahead, Sunren is boldly scaling three transformative horizons. The first one is delivering Global Market access through one powerful, consolidated compliance report that seamlessly covers India, the EU, USA, Japan, and Korea; second, Software-defined Radio certification that embraces both SDR flexibility and secure over-the-air updates.
Third one is launching an AI-driven Predictive Compliance portal that peers 120 days into the future to forecast regulatory shifts, empowering teams to stay ahead of every curve.
