Hindustan Recycling Hub: Creating A Difference, From Deregistration To Dismantling

Jabeeullah Mohammad , Co-Founder & COO
India’s enhancing infrastructure, construction, automotive, and other sectors are contributing to the rising demand for raw materials like metals. While on the one hand self-sufficiency is being promulgated, on the other, significant metal imports indicate consumption that far exceeds domestic production. A push towards a circular approach to resource management is further being promoted by such sectors to minimize import dependance. This is where recycling scrap metals becomes key. With the potential to save tonnes of carbon emissions, thousands of liters of water, and more, recycling is the answer to India’s ambitious carbon neutrality and self-reliance aspirations.

Within this landscape, Hindustan Recycling Hub (HRH), South India’s first registered vehicle scrapping facility (RVSF) established under VVMP of MoRTH has emerged as a beacon of change. With a 70 per cent market share among authorised RVSFs across the five major southern states, Hindustan Recycling Hub is a trusted, certified, and policy-aligned business, dedicated to facilitating and developing a transparent, efficient, and sustainable ELV scrapping ecosystem.

Responsibly Sustainable Operations
Pioneers in the ELV scraping landscape, Hindustan Recycling Hub is bringing a revolution, addressing industry gaps like lacking public knowledge, absence of integrated tech-enabled facilities, non-compliant dismantling and unsafe activities, and more. Emphasis on policy implementation, end-to-end regulatory compliance, user education, and circular economy alignment are the key pillars behind the company’s leadership.

Operating from a massive 1 lakh sq. ft facility in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, the firm leverages the region’s robust automotive aftermarket and scrap trade markets. The facility fitted with globally benchmarked de-pollution, material re-covery, and waste management systems facilitates zero discharge practices and full compliance with ELV guidelines. Its ingenious segregated dismantling zones help prevent cross-contamination, while use of leak-proof containers and oil-ab-sorbent pads simplifies utilization of lubricants and coolants. These eco-friendly practices, along with continuous training and emphasis on SOP adherence in vehicle dismantling processes enables the firm to assure safety and sustain-ability.

We believe that India’s journey toward a sustainable, self-reliant, and circular economy must be backed by robust infrastructure, public awareness, and policy execution

“We believe that India’s journey toward a sustainable, self-reliant, and circular economy must be backed by robust infrastructure, public awareness, and policy execution. We are committed to playing an enabling role, through ethical scrapping, regulatory alignment, stakeholder education, and industry leadership”, shares Jabeeullah Mohammad, Co-Founder & COO, Hindustan Recycling Hub.

Committed to leading India’s growth story towards sustainability, Hindustan Recycling Hub meticulously handles the complete lifecycle of vehicle recycling, right from careful dismantling to tech-integrations for improved outputs. Its hybrid model leveraging automated machinery and skilled manual dismantling critically optimizes speed, recovery rates, and material quality, while its focus on customising technology adoption ensures pertinence to the Indian ELV profile and labor ecosystem.

Vision for the Future
Prominent for their excellence in the automotive recycling space, Hindustan Recycling Hub, strengthened by a robust and visionary team of technocrats and business leaders, has ambitious aspirations for its future. With a legacy of leadership, the company is not merely a cog in the larger industry ecosystem, but a revolutionary force shaping the direction of the market’s growth.

Looking ahead, the firm aims to continue building a stronger position for itself, targeting a major operational scaling initiative from the current 7,000 MT of annual processing to 50,000 MT within the upcoming five to six years. It has also charted out expansion areas which include the establishment of new RVSF units, collection centers, located in strategic Tier II and III cities. Alongside this, it is focusing on advanced equipment procurement for selective automation, exploring component remanufacturing and green aftermarket parts, as well as investing into R&D. In collaboration with universities and tech incubators it further aims to advance innovation, achieving its goal of leading the next phase of the ELV scrapping sector through innovation, compliance, and sustainability.
