The agreement supports Brazil's strategic approach, which focuses on mineral sector development, international partnership expansion and domestic value addition.

Brazil India strengthened bilateral ties through a New Delhi pact on critical minerals agreement and rare earths cooperation, aiming to secure strategic minerals and reinforce the clean energy supply chain to support the green transition.

Brazilian officials explained that their main goal is to build national production capacity through in-country processing development instead of just focusing on resource extraction. Brazil holds the world’s second-largest rare earth reserves and aims to expand its export capacity while establishing domestic facilities for refining and processing.
