On a recent occasion, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal held a string of high-level meetings with the chief executives of several global firms on the subject of trying to augment export, investment, and skill development within India. Among these involved meetings were those with Aseem Kaushik, Managing Director of L'Oréal India, and Krishna Vilasini Bharadwaj, Director, Corporate Affairs & Engagement at L'Oréal India.
The discussions focused on L’Oréal’s expansion plans, how best to raise exports of beauty and personal care products, and skill development options within the sector. Minister Goyal stressed on skill development in creation of an employable workforce on the lines of the government's vision of developing India as a global manufacturing and services hub.

L'Oréal India commits to empowering local talent and export enhancement, which dovetails perfectly with national schemes such as 'Make in India' and 'Skill India', thereby facilitating the country on its way in the global value chain.
Another important meeting was held between the Minister and Ravi Lambah, who heads Strategic Initiatives and India at Temasek, a major global investment firm headquartered in Singapore. The discussions highlighted Temasek's burgeoning investment portfolio in India and how it promotes innovation, job creation, and economic growth. Piyush Goyal welcomes the continued interest of Temasek in India's strategic sectors and further appreciates the confidence that the firm poses in the Indian economy.
These interactions are supported by the government efforts for ongoing engagement with global stakeholders, promotion of India as an investment destination, and inclusive deputation through international cooperation and sectoral development.
