India has confirmed its ability to manage upcoming challenges that arise from the increased tensions between West Asian countries and the risk of global energy supply interruptions through key routes like the Strait of Hormuz.

Narendra Modi informed Parliament about India's current strategic petroleum reserve which exceeds 53 lakh metric tonnes and serves as a vital protection against supply disruptions.

He also showed that India has expanded its energy import sources to 41 countries for oil and gas compared to 27 countries in the previous decade which helps decrease its reliance on particular areas.

The Prime Minister demonstrated that the government considers energy security as its main priority which it has worked to develop during the last ten years.

India has developed its refining operations while building fuel reserves to create a reliable system which delivers essential resources, including crude oil and gas and fertilisers.

The country plans to increase its strategic petroleum reserves to 65 lakh metric tonnes which will better prepare it to handle extended supply interruptions.

The government maintains continuous energy supply arrangements with multiple countries despite the ongoing geopolitical crisis. Modi explained that economic and security and logistics difficulties arise from the situation because most of India's energy imports together with international trade routes pass through the affected region.

He raised security concerns about commercial vessel attacks while highlighting the necessity to maintain secure maritime navigation through essential global shipping routes.

India protects its energy needs through strategic reserves and multiple supply sources and diplomatic activities. The government aims to achieve two goals by its proactive actions which focus on supply stability and protection against global economic disruptions that affect vital national industries.
