BEML, Italy's Tesmec Partner to Launch Surface Miners

• BEML partners with Italy’s Tesmec S.p.A to introduce advanced surface miner equipment

Recently, BEML, which is owned by the state, revealed that is has signed an agreement with Tesmec S.p.A of Italy to supply cutting-edge surface miner equipment into the Indian market for mining use.

BEML Tesmec partnership aims to advance surface miner equipment and mining technology India through innovative BEML mining solutions. Surface miner equipment comprises some of the heaviest machines used for open-cast mining, including surface miners that can cut and crush rock and dirt without having to drill or blast.

Other forms of surface mining equipment also include draglines, bucket-wheel excavators, blasthole drills, dozers, and enormous mining trucks. The Tesmec India collaboration supports mining operations upgrade, heavy machinery India development, and surface mining technology, strengthening India Italy industrial ties.

"BEML Ltd and Tesmec, S.p.A Italy have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), for introducing surface miner equipment by BEML for mining application", the company stated.

As one of India’s foremost manufacturers of mining and construction equipment, BEML offers a very broad set of equipment for surface and underground mining.

Their equipment range includes excavators, hydraulic excavators, dozers, wheel loaders, wheel dozers, dump trucks, motor graders, pipe layers, tyre handlers, water sprinklers, and backhoe loaders.

BEML has also made inroads into the underground mining segment and is already providing specialized equipment such as underground mine cruisers, side discharge loaders, and load-haul dumpers.

The collaboration with Tesmec will help India modernize mining and improve operational efficiency, as well as move away from traditional drilling and blasting methods. With this collaboration, BEML will continue to build an important position in India’s mining and construction industry by supporting the implementation of innovative and sustainable mining solutions in India.
