
CleanMax & Toyota Tsusho Build 300MW Renewables for Japan firms
- CleanMax & Toyota Tsusho India form a joint entity to deliver 300 MW of renewables for Japanese corporates by March 2028.
- Offering rooftop solar, ground‑mount or wind farms, hybrid systems, and carbon credits under long‑term PPAs.

CleanMax, a Brookfield-backed clean energy producer for its Commercial and Industrial (C&I) customers, has teamed up with Toyota Tsusho India Pvt Ltd, to ramp up clean energy consumption by Japanese corporates in India. TTIPL is a subsidiary of Japan’s Toyota Tsusho Corp and operates across various sectors such as mobility, circular economy, and green infrastructure.
The partnership sets the target of developing and operating 300 MW of renewable energy projects by March 2028. The partnership is forming a new entity that will provide bespoke green energy solutions consisting of rooftop solar, stand-alone solar or wind projects, wind-solar hybrids, and carbon credits, through fixed long-term corporate power purchase agreements (PPAs).
CleanMax is leveraging its track record for successful large scale renewable projects, with Toyota Tsusho’s deep networks and connections among Japanese corporates in India (in particular industries that are located in major industrial clusters).

This partnership is a means to help India transition away from fossil fuels. In developing new clean energy portfolios for Japanese corporates in India, it is our intention to serve as a facilitator in the delivery of sustainable objectives for Japanese corporates in India.
