
CM Naidu Meets Envoy in Singapore Pitches AP as Green Tech Hub

As part of his official visit to Singapore, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu met with Indian High Commissioner Shilpak Ambule to promote the State as a premier global investment destination. Naidu put forth Andhra Pradesh’s strategic opportunities in defence, aerospace, electronics, ports, and green energy, with a raft of progressive, investor-friendly policies designed to attract Singapore-based firms.
High Commissioner Ambule congratulated Naidu on the growing global popularity of the "CBN Brand" among government and business leaders in Singapore. He pointed to Singapore advancements in public policy, healthcare, green hydrogen, aviation, semiconductors, and industrial development and said that many Singapore companies are keen to invest in Andhra Pradesh.
He detailed some key projects in the State, including plans to produce 160 gigawatts of green energy. Specifically, he mentioned progress on green hydrogen efforts in Visakhapatnam with NTPC and Kakinada and touching on the development of India’s first Quantum Valley in Amaravati.

Furthermore, he announced that a data center of Google will be set up in Visakhapatnam while noting that Rayalaseema has developed as a centre for defence, aerospace, electronics, and automotive manufacturing.
Ambule noted that 83% of people in Singapore, where he was speaking from, live in public housing, and this gave Urban Development Minister P. Narayana a chance to summarize Andhra Pradesh's housing developments. IT Minister Nara Lokesh briefly discussed the education reform in the State and its commitment to hosting elite new institutions.
Ambule also commented that the demand for tech talent from Andhra Pradesh is growing across Southeast Asia; and, that Singapore is emerging as a destination for students and skilled workers from India. He reiterated his support for the Indian High Commission in strengthening bilateral ties.
Additionally, Singapore companies (e.g., STT, Keppel, CapitaLand, Equinix, and PSA) are looking to invest in sectors such as semiconductors, ports, pharmaceuticals, shipbuilding, and data centres. In the discussions, they spoke about potential collaboration for AI, startups, medical technology, and academic exchange.
