Coromandel International Ltd., a leading provider of agricultural solutions, has commenced a cutting-edge nano fertiliser plant at its Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, location. On Sunday, the plant was unveiled by Sankarasubramanian S, the company's Executive Director (Nutrient Business), in the presence of the company's senior leadership and key channel partners from all over the nation.

According to a company statement, Coromandel has ventured into the new generation of fertilisers, which have the capability to transform Indian agriculture, with this new facility at its Kakinada complex.

One crore bottles can be produced annually by the fully automated nano fertilizer plant. In addition to the existing Nano Dia Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) and Nano Urea products, it can be scaled up to produce multiple ranges of nano fertilizers using energy-efficient technologies. Through its in-house R&D center at IIT Bombay-Monash Research Academy, Coromandel developed these nano fertilisers that ensure optimal nutrient delivery and absorption by plants.

Coromandel has conducted extensive farmer field trials to demonstrate the efficacy of its nano fertilizers, which are sold under the brand name "Gromor Nano." Additionally, the company has established a Nano Technology Centre in Coimbatore to concentrate on agricultural nanoapplications. The Kakinada unit of Coromandel can produce 2 million tons of conventional fertilizer annually, meeting the needs of India's farming community.
