  • Naidu promotes investments and urges industries to formalize proposals through EDB.
  • Coromandel announces ₹2,000-crore fertiliser expansion, including green hydrogen and ammonia.
  • MoU signals strong commitment to boost Andhra Pradesh’s industrial and economic growth.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu conducted a series of meetings with representatives from different organizations in Visakhapatnam, emphasizing investment prospects in Andhra Pradesh and encouraging industrialists to partner. He recommended that proposals be formalized via MoUs with the Economic Development Board (EDB).

In these discussions, Naidu encountered representatives from Coromandel International Limited, a prominent fertiliser and agri-input organization within the Murugappa Group. Conversations focused on enhancing fertiliser production, sustainable ammonia, and agricultural technology initiatives. Coromandel, currently running facilities in Visakhapatnam and Kakinada, revealed intentions to set up another fertilizer production center with an extra investment of Rs 2,000 crore.

A contract was executed in Naidu's presence with the state government. Coromandel's funding will encompass green hydrogen production, green ammonia, and increased fertiliser capacity. Naidu also met with NK Agarwal, chairman of Balaji Action Buildwell, to talk about establishing a manufacturing unit for wood-based engineered panels. Agarwal also contributed Rs 1 crore to aid the upkeep of government-operated Anna Canteens.

Although the MoU is not legally binding at this point, it signifies a significant commitment from Coromandel International to invest in Andhra Pradesh. The suggested projects require essential approvals and will be implemented following the existing policies, regulations, and rules of the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
