India EU Discuss Strategic Partnership Priorities and Cooperation
India and the EU discuss implementing strategic partnership priorities across trade, technology, connectivity, climate and emerging sectors, with institutional mechanisms supporting deeper economic and technological cooperation.
India and the European Union discuss the implementation of key priorities under their strategic partnership, with both sides focusing on translating existing agreements and institutional mechanisms into concrete areas of cooperation. The discussions cover trade, technology, connectivity, climate action and other shared priorities.
The engagement comes as India and the EU continue to strengthen their multifaceted relationship, which covers trade and investment, digital technologies, science and innovation, clean energy, connectivity, agriculture and security. The partnership is supported by regular high-level consultations and institutional platforms, including the India-EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC).

Trade and investment remain important components of the relationship. India and the EU continue to work towards expanding economic engagement, while negotiations and discussions on market access and investment protection remain part of the broader bilateral agenda. The EU is India's largest trading partner, underlining the significance of closer economic cooperation between the two sides.
Technology cooperation is another major priority. Under the TTC, India and the EU work together in areas including semiconductors, high-performance computing, battery technologies and green and clean energy technologies. The mechanism provides a platform for coordinating policies and promoting cooperation at the intersection of technology, trade and security.
The two sides also advance cooperation on connectivity and sustainable development. The India-EU Connectivity Partnership focuses on transport, digital infrastructure and energy networks, while the Clean Energy and Climate Partnership supports collaboration on renewable energy, climate action and sustainable technologies. Phase III of the Clean Energy and Climate Partnership for 2025–28 is already in place.

India and the EU are also expanding cooperation in emerging strategic sectors. Their engagement includes space, disaster management, defence, critical technologies and people-to-people exchanges. The European Space Agency and ISRO maintain cross-support arrangements, while wider collaboration in research and innovation supports technological development.
The latest discussions therefore focus on strengthening implementation across the broad India-EU strategic framework. By advancing cooperation in trade, technology, connectivity, climate and strategic sectors, both sides seek to deepen institutional coordination and build practical outcomes from their long-standing partnership.
