India, Germany team up on AI, robotics & smart textiles

The Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) and the Institut für Textiltechnik (ITA) of RWTH Aachen University have declared their ways to collaborate in AI-supported manufacturing, robotics, and smart textiles, focusing on talent exchange and a sustainable Indian-German partnership.

India Germany AI collaboration strengthens innovation in AI-supported manufacturing, robotics, and smart textiles. The goal is to establish an open innovation ecosystem that fuses India's dynamism of industry with Germany's global leading research and technology.

The partnership and the memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed at the Tamil Nadu Rising Investment Conclave in Düsseldorf, in the company of M. K. Stalin, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, senior government officials, and industry representatives. This Indo-German technology partnership aims to advance manufacturing through cutting-edge research and advanced manufacturing solutions.

This initiative is vigorously backed by Guidance Tamil Nadu under Hon. Dr. TRB Rajaa, Minister for Industry, Investment Promotion, and Trade of the Government of Tamil Nadu, signaling the state's commitment to enhance innovation-led industrial growth.

The MoU was exchanged on behalf of TIDCO by Thiru V. Arun Roy, I.A.S., Principal Secretary, Department of Industry, to Sandeep Nanduri, I.A.S., Managing Director, TIDCO. On behalf of the ITA Director, Prof. Dr. Thomas Gries, Dr. Akram Idrissi, Head of Strategy & Business Development signed for the ITA.

The intent of this collaboration is to enhance cooperation in new technologie, talent and sustainable industry development. By leveraging Tamil Nadu's dynamic manufacturing sector with ITAs advanced research capacity, the collaboration paves the way for innovation in areas of AI-based manufacturing, smart textiles, and robotics, strengthening strategic relations between India and Germany in industrial and technological development.
