Coratia Technologies, an Odisha-based deep-tech robotics startup, has signed a contract worth INR 66 Cr (USD 7.5 Mn) with the Indian Navy to supply and maintain its indigenously developed Underwater Remotely Operated Vehicles (UWROVs). The deal, signed in the presence of senior naval officials, marks the first large-scale induction of India-built UWROVs into active naval operations.

Coratia Technologies deal, secured the Indian Navy ₹66 crore contract for Indian Navy underwater robotics, advancing indigenous defense technology India. The Indian Navy Coratia partnership reflects Make in India defense initiatives and innovation in underwater robotics India and defense robotics India.

Raj Sethia, Founder and Managing Partner, MGF Kavachh stated, "We recognised Coratia's unique strength in homegrown innovation and its potential to transform critical sectors. By investing, we are not just backing a promising startup but also reinforcing the spirit of 'Make in India' and contributing to the vision of becoming a global technology leader".

Biswajit Swain, Co-founder & CTO, Coratia Technologies noted, "By reducing India's reliance on imported foreign technology during a volatile geopolitical period, such innovations support our goal of enabling technological sovereignty", he added.

The Navy has already commissioned Jalasimha, Coratia’s flagship UWROV, which successfully cleared rigorous testing and achieved Technology Readiness Level-9 under NASA’s mission framework, making it deployment-ready. Alongside Jalasimha, Coratia has developed Jaladuta and Navya (ASV), offering sonar-based mapping, AI- and ML-powered analytics, and cost-effective underwater robotics for defence and civil use.
