Maruti Suzuki, DPIIT back auto tech startups in manufacturing

Maruti Suzuki India Limited and the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship in the automotive and mobility ecosystem.
With this MoU, DPIIT's recognized start-up in the 'Startup India' initiative will now be able to work with Maruti Suzuki and its various innovation programs. Selected startups will be provided with expert mentoring, in-depth industrial experience, and access to a plethora of infrastructure and professional network of Maruti Suzuki.
This initiative enables startups to tap into various incubators, accelerators, and investors, facilitating the demonstration and scaling of their tech-based solutions.
The signing of the MoU was according to schedule and it was on the stage at DPIIT where Maruti Suzuki executives Anjali Bansal, Sunil Kakkar, Rahul Bharti and Tapan Sahoo exchanged signed copies in front of DPIIT Joint Secretary Sanjiv.

Rahul Bharti stated, "India is home to a vibrant and growing startup ecosystem. Through this partnership with DPIIT, we will be able to further accelerate our efforts to support promising startups to create technology-led solutions in the automobile manufacturing and mobility space".
Sanjiv added, "This MoU is a step towards creating a robust platform for startups to transform ideas into market-ready mobility and manufacturing solutions, reinforcing India’s leadership in next-gen industrial innovation".
The partnership builds on Maruti Suzuki's ongoing pursuit of supporting early-stage ventures through its Mobility Challenge, Incubation, Nurture and Accelerator programs. To date, Maruti Suzuki has screened more than 5220 start-ups, engaged with approximately 150 and 28 start-ups have been onboarded as business partners. The collaboration with DPIIT continues to reaffirm Maruti Suzuki's support of innovation and the future of mobility in India.
