Rangsons Aerospace, is based at Mysore and is a legacy that has formed towards India's incense and fragrance industry over these years. Their parent company, the diversified NR Group, produces the 'Cycle' agarbattis or incense sticks, which has been a household name across India since the 1940s or even before.

In a span of a good few decades, the conglomerate has become nearly unrecognizable. By 2025, Rangsons Aerospace - a company dedicated to product and technology development for aerospace, defense, and homeland security-is now eyeing the international stage for acquisitions, particularly focusing on America.

In March, this company picked up an investment of Rs 300 crore-or thereabouts $36.5 million-from an alternate asset management company named ValueQuest Investment Advisors. The money will help it ramp up operational capacity and provide growth in new business channels through strategic acquisition.

“So we are going to acquire a company in the US, to establish a stronger competence and we have started doing some due diligence,” said Pavan Ranga, founder and chief executive officer, Rangsons Aerospace, to ET Infra.

“The idea is that there are a lot of companies in the US where there is a problem of succession, wherein the next generation does not want to come and take over the business. These are small and medium enterprises with very core technology. So a lot of them are looking for exits and we are looking to acquire one or even two,” said Ranga, adding that the company is expecting to close a deal by September.

Aviation Fluid Distribution System A diverse portfolio of Rangsons Aerospace focuses on product development for aviation fluid distribution systems, airborne platform thermal management systems involving SA-Communication (SATCOM). Fluids distribution systems contribute 40 percent to revenues; another 30 percent comes in from thermal management and SATCOM systems each.

Rangsons Aerospace is a Tier I supplier to global OEMs such as Boeing, Airbus, Honeywell, GE, Pratt & Whitney among others engaged in manufacturing fluid distribution systems, which comprises development and integration of critical parts like ducts and tubes for aircraft and engines, and this presents future potential for the company.
