
Uno Minda to Establish 2-Wheeler Alloy Wheel Plant in Bawal, Haryana
Uno Minda announced that its Board of Directors has approved the establishment of a manufacturing facility for two-wheeler alloy wheels at Bawal, Haryana.
The facility will provide a new installed capacity of about 1.5 million alloy wheels a year with the objective to fulfill newly received orders as well as anticipated market demand. The project requires a total capital expenditure of approximately ~200 crore, which will be funded through debt and internal accruals. The facility is expected to be operational by Q2 FY 27.
Furthermore, the Company has also commenced commercial production of the expansion project of an additional 2.0 million alloy wheels at Supa, Maharashtra. The expansion was initially announced in May 2024.
Uno Minda began producing Two-Wheeler Alloy Wheels in the FY 21 with its greenfield facility in Supa, Maharashtra, starting with a capacity of 4.0 million wheels. The company has nearly doubled the production capacity in Supa to 8.0 million wheels since then.
"The total capital expenditure for this capacity expansion is estimated at around Rs 200 crore, " it added.
By continuing to invest and focus on localization, Uno Minda has played a big role in reducing the dependence on imported two-wheeler alloy wheels to support the Government's Make in India initiative.
