Aequs signs long-term agreements with Safran to manufacture critical components for Airbus A320, A330 and A350 aircraft and Boeing 787 programmes, expanding aerospace production across Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

Indian precision manufacturing company Aequs Ltd has signed long-term supply agreements with French aerospace major Safran to manufacture critical aircraft components for Airbus and Boeing programmes. The agreements expand the companies’ existing partnership and strengthen Aequs’ role in the global aerospace supply chain.

The contracts cover the machining of superalloy parts, precision machining, coating and assembly of landing gear components for the Airbus A320, A330 and A350 aircraft programmes, as well as the Boeing 787 programme. These components will support Safran’s aircraft production activities and broader supply chain requirements.

The agreements build on Aequs’ long-standing relationship with Safran Landing Systems and extend its collaboration to Safran Aerosystems and other Safran businesses. With the latest contracts, Aequs works with six Safran entities, expanding its involvement across the aerospace manufacturer’s operations.

Aequs will utilise its integrated manufacturing capabilities at the Belagavi Aerospace Cluster in Karnataka, which brings together forging, precision machining, specialised processing, surface treatment and assembly. The company also plans to undertake a significant portion of the new manufacturing work at its upcoming Aequs Engine Components Ecosystem (AECE) in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The facility is expected to manufacture medium and large aerospace components, further expanding the company’s production capabilities.

Aequs Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Aravind Melligeri said the components covered by the agreements are among the most demanding flight-critical products to industrialise. The contracts reflect the importance of technical expertise, manufacturing precision and quality standards in aerospace production.

The announcement follows a July 2026 agreement between Aequs and Safran Landing Systems for manufacturing fully assembled wheels for the Airbus A320 family. Running through 2042, the earlier contract covers production in India, from locally sourced aluminium to final assembly and testing.

Aequs operates manufacturing clusters in Belagavi, Hubballi and Koppal in Karnataka, alongside international operations in the United States and France. Its aerospace portfolio includes components for aircraft engines, structures, actuation systems and landing systems. The new agreements further strengthen its position as an Indian supplier to global aerospace manufacturers and support the expansion of domestic precision manufacturing capabilities.
