Bengaluru Airport is exploring door-to-door passenger services including wake-up calls, doorstep baggage pickup, home check-in and chauffeur-driven transfers. The proposed Care by BLR expansion aims to streamline travel from home to the boarding gate.

Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru is planning to expand its passenger-assistance offerings with a proposed door-to-door travel service that could allow passengers to begin their airport journey from home. The initiative, being explored under the airport’s Care by BLR programme, could combine wake-up calls, doorstep baggage collection, check-in assistance and chauffeur-driven transfers.

Under the proposed model, passengers could receive a wake-up call at a pre-selected time before their flight. A limousine and support staff would then arrive at the passenger’s residence, collect luggage, complete baggage-tagging and check-in formalities, and transport the traveller to the airport. Care by BLR personnel could subsequently assist passengers through airport processes and accompany them up to the boarding gate.

The initiative is intended to reduce the time and effort associated with travelling to and through the airport, particularly for passengers carrying multiple bags or seeking a premium travel experience. The airport is also exploring a courier facility for belongings that passengers may not be permitted to carry through security, although details on eligible items and implementation have not yet been announced.

Care by BLR already provides a portfolio of passenger services across Terminals 1 and 2. These include Meet & Assist, porter assistance, luggage storage, valet parking, lounge access, baggage wrapping, limousine transfers, airside limousine services, car spa and flower delivery. The services are available through the BLR Pulse app and offline channels.

According to Bengaluru Airport Services CEO George Bennet Kuruvilla, Care by BLR is designed around a 360-degree passenger-assistance approach, extending support from the kerbside to boarding and during the arrival journey. The programme is reportedly handling around 300-350 transactions daily across its various services.

The airport already offers premium limousine transfers, with options ranging from luxury sedans to high-end vehicles. The proposed home-to-airport model would integrate such transportation with baggage collection and airport assistance, creating a more connected passenger journey.

The plans reflect Bengaluru Airport’s broader focus on moving beyond conventional terminal services toward personalised passenger experiences. However, the proposed home check-in and doorstep baggage pickup services are still under consideration, and an official launch date, pricing structure and service eligibility have not yet been announced.
