Dubai Future District Fund and Buimerc agree to explore venture capital and start-up partnerships, connecting Indian founders and investors with Dubai's innovation ecosystem and international markets.

Dubai Future District Fund (DFDF) and Buimerc Corporation Limited have agreed on a strategic collaboration to strengthen Dubai's venture capital ecosystem and expand investment and innovation partnerships between India and the United Arab Emirates. The initiative aims to connect Indian entrepreneurs, technology start-ups and investors with Dubai's funding networks and international business opportunities.

The agreement was announced on November 2, 2026, at the Consulate General of India in Dubai in the presence of India's Ambassador to the UAE, Dr Deepak Mittal, and Consul General Dr E. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy. The partnership brings together DFDF, Dubai's venture capital fund-of-funds and investment platform, and Buimerc, a Dubai-based investment and holding company with Indian roots and experience in both markets.

Under the collaboration, the organisations will explore opportunities to support technology start-ups and high-growth companies seeking to establish or expand their presence in Dubai. The proposed areas of cooperation include sharing market insights, facilitating connections between founders and venture capital fund managers, and helping businesses access investment networks across the UAE and India.

The partnership will also explore joint initiatives such as entrepreneurship programmes, business delegations and networking events. These activities are intended to encourage cross-border engagement, create opportunities for investors and founders, and strengthen connections between the two countries' innovation ecosystems.

Dr Deepak Mittal said the collaboration would contribute to strengthening India-UAE relations by encouraging greater cooperation in venture capital and creating opportunities for investment and innovation. Dr Vishnu Vardhan Reddy highlighted the potential for Indian start-ups to access the UAE's venture capital ecosystem and build partnerships with entrepreneurs and investors in the region.

Khalfan Belhoul, Chairman of DFDF and Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Future Foundation, said the partnership would support Dubai's efforts to develop a venture capital ecosystem built around long-term relationships and international collaboration. Arif Amiri, Chief Executive Officer of DIFC Authority, noted that the initiative could create new pathways for Indian founders and investors to establish businesses in Dubai and expand into international markets.

DFDF Managing Director Nader Albastaki emphasised the importance of connecting the fund's network of venture capital managers and founders with Buimerc's experience across India and the UAE. Siddharth Balachandran, Executive Chairman and CEO of Buimerc, said the collaboration would support Dubai's innovation ambitions while strengthening economic and strategic ties between the two countries.

The initiative also aligns with Dubai's Economic Agenda D33, which aims to double the emirate's economy by 2033 and establish it as a leading global centre for investment, innovation and the new economy. DFDF invests in technology-focused sectors including property technology, health technology, logistics technology, deep technology, circular economy solutions and Web3.

The agreement provides a framework for exploring cooperation rather than announcing specific funding commitments. Its implementation could help Indian start-ups and investors access Dubai's venture capital networks while supporting the emirate's efforts to attract international talent, capital and technology businesses.
