  • Hindustan Zinc partners GreenLine for supply chain decarbonisation
  • Target to cut 150,000 tonnes Scope 3 emissions yearly
  • GreenLine to scale 10,000 clean trucks, 100 fuel stations

Hindustan Zinc has collaborated with GreenLine Mobility Solutions to ensure the 100 per cent decarbonisation of supply chain through the introduction of advanced electric and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) trucks. The collaboration is considered to be a major step to the net zero emissions and a great leap in the efforts the company makes to reach the goal of the net zero emissions.

For long-distance completed goods transportation, GreenLine will invest Rs 400 crore to deploy 100 electric trucks, build India's first commercial-scale battery swapping infrastructure, and add 100 more trucks to Hindustan Zinc's LNG fleet, doubling its size to 200.

Arun Misra, CEO of Hindustan Zinc Limited, stated, “At Hindustan Zinc, we are unwavering in our commitment to pioneering sustainable practices and believe the future of manufacturing is green. This large-scale deployment of EVs and LNG trucks, a bold step in our journey to net zero, solidifies our dedication to driving meaningful impact through innovative green logistics solutions and strategic partnerships, shaping a cleaner, more sustainable supply chain.”

The company is intending to increase its activities, with a desire to eliminate 236 metric tonnes of CO 2 emissions monthly and 150,000 tonnes of Scope 3 emission yearly. This will offer cost cutting and help green aspirations in India and go net zero by 2050 or earlier.

GreenLine, which runs more than 650 LNG vehicles in a variety of industries, has already cut CO2 emissions by more than 14,000 tonnes. In order to reduce carbon emissions by up to 1 million tons a year, the company intends to grow to 10,000 clean trucks and create an integrated green mobility ecosystem that includes 100 LNG refueling stations, EV charging stations, and battery swapping facilities.
