  • Honeywell launches first India-made CCTV under Atmanirbhar Bharat.
  • It offers advanced analytics, image stabilization, strong cybersecurity features.
  • Targets critical sectors: government, healthcare, transport, real estate, and education.

Honeywell has introduced its 50 Series CCTV products which are the first cameras developed and made in India by the company. This step supports the Government of India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat program, since all stages of development, from concept to production, were done in India. These cameras have been given Class 1 certification by the government as part of the ‘Make in India’ program. The 50 Series surveillance systems were developed at Honeywell's global development center in Bengaluru to satisfy the region's growing need for high-quality, intelligent, and cyber-secure systems.  Leading Indian Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) provider VVDN Technologies collaborated with the cameras' manufacturers and helped design the hardware.

“We are excited to introduce this new product line that reflects our commitment to advancing the security solutions landscape in India. It also demonstrates our ongoing investment in the country’s growth and highlights the strength of our local engineering capabilities and partnerships,” said Vimal Kapur, CEO and Chairman of Honeywell.

Mr. Kapur met with senior officials from Honeywell and VVDN Technologies in New Delhi to celebrate the launch, as well as with Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Union Minister for Electronics and IT, Railways, and Information & Broadcasting.

The 50 Series CCTV cameras were created especially to address the particular security issues facing India.  They provide improved imaging capabilities, gyro sensor-based picture stabilization, and advanced video analytics for proactive threat identification.

In order to meet the changing security requirements of vital infrastructure in industries including government, healthcare, education, transportation, commercial areas, and real estate, these cameras also have strong cybersecurity features. The camera line comprises both dome and bullet-style devices with 3MP and 5MP resolution options.

In 2024, Honeywell acquired Carrier's Global Access Solutions division, which featured LenelS2, and this new product builds on that acquisition. Through this acquisition, Honeywell's line of physical security products, which now includes mobile credentialing, video surveillance, and access control, was expanded.
