  • CM Bhajan Lal Sharma announced major initiatives to boost medical tourism, planned urban growth, and green energy in Rajasthan.
  • The cabinet approved the Heal in Rajasthan, Township, and City Gas Distribution (CGD) policies for 2025.
  • Three joint ventures with central PSUs will bring ₹11,200 crore in renewable energy investments to the state.

On Monday, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma made three major announcements adopting the Heal in Rajasthan Policy 2025, the Township Policy 2025, and the Rajasthan City Gas Distribution (CGD) Policy 2025 to help fit Rajasthan into the global medical tourism scheme, sustainably grow cities, and promote the development of green energy.

"The Heal in Rajasthan Policy 2025 aims to position Rajasthan as a global medical value travel destination where people can access affordable, high-quality healthcare services. By integrating modern medicine with traditional systems like Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, and Siddha, Rajasthan will offer a unique healthcare experience that will attract patients from across the world", said Deputy CM Prem Chand Bairwa.

The Policy purpose is to try to attract healthcare investment and will operate under numerous existing frameworks such as the Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme (RIPS), the state's industrial development policy, and the state's tourism policy and focus on high-quality healthcare infrastructure and services for international patients in Rajasthan.

The Township Policy 2025 emphasizes systematic urban planning. It requires a residential township to set aside 7% of the land for parks and playgrounds and 8% of the land for public utilities. There is a maximum provision of 5% for worker housing in industrial townships and 2.5% of the land can be identified for worker housing initially and hopefully sold to residents' welfare associations or reserved for its utility for a maximum of five years once the development has been completed.

"We are committed to providing world-class urban infrastructure in Rajasthan's cities. The new township policy will guarantee the availability of parks, civic amenities, and housing for all segments of society, including the economically weaker sections", stated Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel.

The cabinet also ratified the Rajasthan CGD Policy 2025 which will help with access to clean energy by developing city-wide gas distribution networks. Chief Minister Sumit Godara also announced the approved agreements for three joint ventures for renewable energy with public sector undertakings (PSUs) of the central government which is expected to generate ₹11,200 crore investment in renewable energy.

"This will help Rajasthan move towards a gas-based economy, reduce carbon emissions, and ensure safe and eco-friendly natural gas availability for the public", he added.
