The discussions build on earlier engagements between Indian and Czech officials. In April 2026, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada visited the Czech Republic to strengthen bilateral trade, investment and industrial cooperation. During the visit, he held meetings with senior Czech leaders, including Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlicek, his deputy Jan Sechter, and Deputy Foreign Minister Chatardova.
Prasada also co-chaired the 13th session of the India-Czech Republic Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation with Jan Sechter in Prague. The meeting reviewed bilateral economic relations and explored opportunities for collaboration in emerging industries and technology-driven sectors.
As part of the visit, the Indian minister toured the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics in Prague and the ELI Beamlines facility in Dolni Brezany. The visits focused on opportunities to strengthen research and development partnerships in artificial intelligence, robotics and laser science.
The two countries have identified innovation as an important area for expanding their bilateral relationship. Their cooperation framework covers scientific research, technology development, sustainable economic growth, defence and security, and innovative industries. These areas provide opportunities for research institutions, businesses and technology companies to develop joint projects and exchange expertise.
India and the Czech Republic are also seeking to translate their diplomatic engagement into stronger commercial partnerships. Greater collaboration in advanced manufacturing, research and technology could create opportunities for investment, knowledge sharing and industrial development.
