Indian Army, JCBL to Build Next-Gen Vehicle Hub in Leh

Recently, the Fire & Fury Corps of the Indian Army, referred to as the 14 Corps, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with JCBL Group's Airbornics Defence & Space (ADSL) to create a New Generation Vehicle (NGV) repair hub and depot at the 14 Corps Zonal Workshop at Leh.

The Indian Army JCBL partnership marks a major step in strengthening defence infrastructure India through the establishment of a vehicle repair hub in Leh for next-gen military vehicles. The initiative will enhance the logistics readiness of the Army by providing a maintenance and OEM depot facility for NGVs at the workshop.

As part of the collaboration, JCBL Group (ADSL) will offer specialist support relating to defence manufacturing, technical assistance, training, retro- modification, and research and development under the NGV Hub banner in Leh.

This JCBL Group collaboration enhances Army logistics support and Leh defence projects, advancing Army modernization India with a state-of-the-art vehicle maintenance facility.

The company will hold ready stock of fast-moving parts for vehicles and equipment provided to the Army and will be supported by other group companies to facilitate the supply of critical war reserve stores into the Army in India and abroad.

"This collaboration with the Fire & Fury Corps is special for us as it is one of the most operationally committed formations. Incorporating industry at the field formation level will significantly improve equipment availability and operational readiness", stated Rishi Aggarwal, Managing Director, JCBL Group.

Lt Gen Hitesh Bhalla pointed out that this strategic partnership would greatly enhance the operational readiness of 14 Corps and stressed that it would be in the interest of Army units to make extensive use of the industry warehouses at a number of forward locations.

In addition to those in the area, efforts are underway to develop three more industry warehouse facilities in forward locations within the area of responsibility of 14 Corps, thereby greatly enhancing the logistics and operational capabilities of the Army in the area. Overall, this relationship signifies a strategic move toward revitalising support infrastructure to provide the Army with rapid and effective maintenance and supply of next-generation vehicles.
