Jindal Stainless Signs Tech Pact With Japan's JFE Steel Jindal Stain

Jindal Stainless has partnered with Japan’s JFE Steel under a Technical Assistance Agreement to strengthen manufacturing of selected ferritic stainless steel grades, focusing on product quality, process efficiency and operational excellence.

Jindal Stainless has entered into a Technical Assistance Agreement with Japan’s JFE Steel Corporation to strengthen its manufacturing capabilities for selected ferritic stainless steel grades. The collaboration will focus on improving product quality, manufacturing practices and process efficiency through technical assistance from the Japanese steelmaker.

Under the agreement, JFE Steel will provide technical support to Jindal Stainless for the specified ferritic stainless steel grades. The partnership is expected to help strengthen manufacturing processes and quality standards while enabling Jindal Stainless to leverage JFE Steel’s expertise in ferritic stainless steel production.

Ferritic stainless steel is increasingly used across applications where durability, corrosion resistance and cost efficiency are important. Key end-use sectors include automotive components, railway coaches, kitchen equipment, industrial machinery and construction. The agreement therefore aligns with growing demand for value-added stainless steel products across industrial and infrastructure applications.

Jindal Stainless Managing Director Abhyuday Jindal said the company is focused on enhancing its technological capabilities through cooperation with global industry leaders. He highlighted the importance of ferritic stainless steel in applications seeking a balance between performance, sustainability and value. According to the company, JFE Steel’s expertise will support improvements in product quality and operational excellence.

The partnership forms part of Jindal Stainless’ broader focus on strengthening manufacturing capabilities and expanding its portfolio of high-performance stainless steel products. The company manufactures stainless steel using electric arc furnace technology and produces slabs, blooms, coils, plates, sheets, precision strips, wire rods, rebars, blade steel and coin blanks.

As of March 2026, Jindal Stainless had 16 stainless steel manufacturing and processing facilities across India and overseas, including operations in Spain and Indonesia, along with a global network spanning 12 countries. The company reported consolidated revenue of ₹11,278.54 crore and net profit of ₹769.36 crore for Q1 FY27.

The technical partnership with JFE Steel adds an international technology dimension to Jindal Stainless’ manufacturing strategy.
