JSW Motors, KPIT Tech Join Forces to Boost Digital for NEVs
- JSW Motors and KPIT Technologies team up to build the software and digital backbone for JSW’s new energy vehicle lineup
- KPIT will provide expertise in electric propulsion, battery tech, and software-defined vehicle architecture
- JSW plans to invest $3 billion over five years to develop electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid vehicles in India
JSW Motors has entered into a partnership with KPIT Technologies to create the software and digital foundation of its new energy vehicle portfolio. The announcement in the filing on July 30th caused KPIT’s share price to rise 5 percent.
With respect to the partnership, KPIT will provide expertise in respect of electric propulsion systems, battery technologies, and software-defined vehicle (SDV) architecture, which enables future continuous feature mapping and functionality in JSW’s vehicles.

The partnership is supposed to support the delivery of "world-class" electric and hybrid vehicles for use in the Indian market. JSW Motors has also announced an investment of $3 billion over the next five years, which is to be used to design, develop and manufacture electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid vehicles in India.
KPIT is expected to establish a center of excellence dedicated to JSW Motors to support the ambitious plan and ensure commitment towards continued cooperation and innovation in relation to vehicle software and digital systems for the company as it begins its involvement in EV.
