According to a Russian official, Russia will supply India with energy resources if any supply disruptions occur. India announced recently that about one crore Indian nationals need protection during the ongoing West Asia tensions, which brought forth the offer.

The Iranian government shut down the Strait of Hormuz, which serves as a vital shipping route for about 20 percent of global oil trade, on the fourth day of fighting, according to the sources, which reported that this action caused oil prices to surge.
India stated that its trade and energy supply chains depend on this particular route. The Strait of Hormuz handles approximately 50% of India's crude oil imports and 54% of its LNG supplies, which includes LNG shipments from Qatar and the UAE.
Qatar declared force majeure after stopping production due to an Iranian drone strike, which had resulted in production interruption. The supply of LNG has decreased by 40%, which has impacted Indian industrial operations.
Petronet LNG Ltd. operates an 8.5 million tonnes annual LNG import contract with Qatar, informed domestic gas marketers about the production halt which demonstrated India's energy supply chain weaknesses during regional conflicts.
