Tata Electronics, a significant entity in the electronics and semiconductor manufacturing industry, has entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Kohima branch of the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), which operates under the Ministry of Electronics & IT, Government of India.

A statement from Tata Electronics indicates that this MOU targets skilling programs in the semiconductor assembly, testing, marking, and packaging (ATMP) industry. This partnership seeks to enhance the semiconductor training ecosystem in India and tackle the skill deficit in the local semiconductor sector.

Through this collaboration, Tata Electronics and NIELIT Kohima will work together to create industry-recognized training programs and curricula, along with course materials and certifications, to prepare Indian youth with the skills needed for employment in semiconductor ATMP and related fields.

Furthermore, Tata Electronics will provide practical experience for students via internships and vocational training to prepare them for the industry. The partnership aims to strategically empower the youth of Northeast India and the wider Northeast region, allowing them to take part in India's semiconductor growth narrative.
