Tata Power, VECV Partner to Drive EV Adoption in CV Sector

Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Limited (TPEVCSL), a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) for the fast-tracked adoption of electric commercial vehicles in India, particularly the newly launched Eicher Pro X range of small commercial vehicles.

This partnership seeks to promote public acceptance of electric trucks and buses into fleet operations. While Tata Power will capitalize on its proven record in setting up EV charging infrastructure and customized charging solutions, VECV in energy-efficient operations will assist and optimize performance of electric trucks for the varying requirements of its customers.

To drive EV adoption India, focusing on commercial vehicles EV and electric trucks India to enable clean mobility. With robust EV charging infrastructure and green energy solutions, the collaboration supports sustainable transport nationwide.

The program aims to work with Eicher Trucks and Buses customers, offering customized solutions to typical EV adoption barriers like range anxiety, limited charging access, and costs. In addition to the Pro X series, the collaboration will also support the launch of new applications with other models from Eicher's expanding electric vehicle lineup.

Tata Power is already well entrenched as a player in the ecosystem supporting EV in India through its EZ Charge brand. Tata Power's charging network includes more than 1.5 lakh home chargers, 5,500 public, semi-public and fleet charging stations, and over 1,200 e-bus charging stations in 630 cities and towns.

The size of this infrastructure, plus VECV's commercial vehicle expertise, creates a valuable opportunity to enable sustainable mobility solutions  to suit different types of business mobility in India.
