
TPREL & Suzlon to Develop 838 MW Wind Energy in India
- TPREL has signed an agreement with Suzlon Group for 838 MW of wind turbine generators
- TPREL’s wind energy portfolio exceeds 3.9 GW, with projects spread across seven states
- The initiative supports Tata Power’s goal of 100% clean energy by 2045
Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of The Tata Power Company Limited, is an eminent player in India's green energy space. The company has signed a landmark contract with Suzlon Group for the supply of wind turbine generators aggregating to 838 MW that will be used for power generation for TPREL's future projects across several states, along with the commissioning of such projects in the coming years.
This association nourishes the status of TPREL in the clean energy transition in India and yet makes significant contributions towards India's target of 500 GW of renewable capacity by 2030. It is the reaffirmation of TPREL's commitment towards the augmentation of wind-based solutions in a sustainable way that is competitive and reliable.

TPREL is currently operating and developing a wind portfolio of more than 3.9 GW, of which operational capacity itself stands over 1 GW, and the balance under development in various locations such as Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.
The agreement will see Suzlon offering an end-to-end solution drawing from its extensive knowledge of wind energy technology and deployment. This agreement marks the strategic third alliance between TPREL and Suzlon and is testimony to the past decade-plus partnership and trust.
This initiative fits well within Tata Power's overarching sustainability group objective of being able to procure 100% clean energy by 2045 and it, thereby, also assists to grow Tata Power's own rapidly expanding renewable portfolio of 15.7 GW capacity, 6.9 GW of which comes from renewable. Together, TPREL and Suzlon will accelerate India's journey toward a green and resilient energy future.
