US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor is set to outline a roadmap for strengthening India-US trade, investment and strategic cooperation at the IACC National Convention 2026 in Mumbai. Key areas include technology, manufacturing, supply chains and economic cooperation.

US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor is expected to outline opportunities for deeper trade, investment and strategic cooperation between India and the United States at the IACC National Convention 2026 in Mumbai. The convention, themed “Redefining the India-US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership,” will be held on August 18.

The discussions come as both countries seek to strengthen economic and strategic engagement across sectors including technology, healthcare, manufacturing, critical minerals, digital infrastructure and resilient supply chains. These areas are increasingly important to both economies as they work to expand industrial cooperation and reduce vulnerabilities in global supply networks.

Gor's address is expected to focus on how India and the US can translate their strategic partnership into greater commercial opportunities. Investment, advanced technologies and stronger business-to-business engagement are likely to remain central to the discussions.

The two countries have also been working to advance a proposed bilateral trade agreement, with officials maintaining regular communication on the negotiations. India's Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agrawal recently said that both sides remain committed to the framework agreed earlier this year.

Technology is another major area of cooperation. Under the TRUST initiative, India and the US have been expanding collaboration in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, quantum technology, biotechnology, defence, energy and space. The partnership also includes efforts to develop an AI infrastructure roadmap covering investment, financing and large-scale infrastructure requirements.

Investment flows would also likely feature prominently as American corporations increase their engagement with India. Cooperation in digital infrastructure, modern manufacturing and new age technology may provide American and Indian companies entry points into the booming Indian economy.

The upcoming convention comes days after Gor's meeting with Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on enhancing strategic cooperation and the larger India-US alliance. The latest engagement reflects the diversifying breadth of Indo-US relations beyond just trade and security.

Increased cooperation in technology, investments, and manufacturing and critical supply chains could strengthen the bilateral economic alliance. Hence, the address by Gor can be expected to lay down a wider roadmap for converting strategic consensus into tangible business opportunities between India and the US.
