Amazon India, TEXPROCIL Boost Cotton Textile Exports

Synopsis: Amazon India and TEXPROCIL partner to help Indian cotton textile exporters expand globally through Amazon Global Selling, providing digital export support, market access, and training to boost international trade and MSME growth.

There is a joint venture between Amazon India and TEXPROCIL, which is the Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council, in order to increase the exports of cotton textiles from India by enabling the manufacturing and exporting companies to enter international markets via e-commerce. The joint venture will help the Indian textile industry, especially the MSME sector, with technology, international market entry, and exporting skills, thus ensuring that India remains a major exporter of cotton textile products.

Through the signing of a MoU, this partnership employs Amazon Global Selling platform for the linkage between Indian exporters and customers in various international platforms such as the US, UK, UAE, Canada, Germany, Australia, and many more countries. Through this project, it becomes easier for Indian businesses to target millions of consumers all over the world without the need for setting up their business physically abroad.

As per the partnership, Amazon India and TEXPROCIL shall provide training, capacity building, and awareness programs for educating the exporters regarding the international practices of e-commerce, digital marketing, product compliances, logistics, and customer needs overseas. Such activities aim at enabling the textile manufactures to develop their exporting capabilities and increase their competitiveness in foreign markets.

The partnership gives special attention to the marketing of India’s wide variety of cotton textiles, such as bed linen, bath linen, kitchen linen, home furnishings, fabrics, and others. Given that the need for high-quality and sustainable home textiles products is rising across the globe, the project is expected to bring new business opportunities for Indian exporters and improve India’s export business environment.
