Bharat Forge, Agile Robots Partner on AI Automation

Recently, the Pune-based company Bharat Forge signed an MoU with Agile Robots which is a company based in Germany, to check the possibility of a strategic partnership in AI-powered robotics and industrial automation.

The collaboration is geared to developing intelligent automation and robotic solutions for the manufacturing industries that are civilian-run and come from such sectors as automotive, consumer electronics, healthcare, industrial goods, and logistics.

Indian market and Southeast Asian market will be the main focus of the partnership. However, defence applications will not be included in this cooperation.

The two companies intend to collaboratively develop and install vision-and AI-based robotic systems under the MoU to make it easier for the so-called dark factories or the highly autonomous manufacturing environments.

Bharat Forge will utilize its manufacturing expertise and industry insight, whereas Agile Robots will help with its AI-powered robotics and automation.

Amit Kalyani, Vice Chair & Co-Managing Director at Bharat Forge, remarked that the cooperation was a step in the right direction for the company which is moving toward an intelligent automation strategy for various sectors during the rise in manufacturing activities in India.

Agile Robots, a startup based in Munich and launched in 2018, operates not only in Germany but also in the U.S., China, and India where its main focus is on AI-powered robots for industrial applications. Bharat Forge is a worldwide provider of safety-critical parts and solutions for the automotive, industrial, defense and aerospace sectors and has manufacturing facilities in several places around the world.

With the partnership, the two companies are going to implement AI-powered robots in factories in India and Southeast Asia much faster. The plan is to combine the knowledge of Bharat Forge in different industries with the cutting-edge AI robot technology of Agile Robots to create the next generation of adaptable, smart systems that will benefit industrial operations by increasing their efficiency, accuracy and productivity.
