  • EIL and Honeywell signed a strategic agreement at India Energy Week 2026
  • The collaboration features EIL’s EngSulfTG technology for up to 99.9% sulphur recovery
  • The pact supports Aatmanirbhar Bharat by promoting indigenous, low-carbon refining solutions

Engineers India Limited (EIL) signed a partnership with Honeywell at India Energy Week 2026 which takes place in Goa to establish a new energy security system for India that protects the environment.

The agreement was signed in the presence of Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas. The partnership brings together EIL’s extensive expertise in engineering, project management, and execution with Honeywell’s global leadership in advanced process technologies.

The two organizations will develop new solutions that provide operational efficiency while meeting environmental standards for India's refining industry. EIL developed its Tail Gas Treating Technology EngSulfTG as its main solution for the collaboration.

This advanced solution enables sulphur recovery levels of up to 99.9 per cent by weight in refinery operations, which results in a substantial decrease of sulphur emissions while helping refineries meet their environmental standards.

The technology demonstrates India's ability to create refining solutions that meet international standards through its own domestic development process.

The EIL–Honeywell agreement meets the requirements of the Government of India's Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative because it supports native technology development while decreasing the need for foreign hydrocarbon industry solutions and it promotes the use of environmentally friendly low-emission technologies.

The project aims to establish India as a worldwide center for cutting-edge refining technology development. The collaborative effort will result in faster implementation of advanced refinery technologies while it decreases refining emissions and strengthens India's position in the international refining market.

The partnership represents a major achievement which will help India achieve its clean energy objectives while developing state-of-the-art sustainable refining technology.
