India and the United States have been deeply involved in strategic collaboration lately. In fact, the visit is likely to include some top-level meetings in Washington, D.C. where Misri will discuss with American officials the state of the bilateral relations and the possible areas of cooperation.

The most important areas of the talks will be defense trade technology, energy, and regional security, as these are the major aspects of India-US partnership. This visit also comes at a time when the two countries have been in regular touch, especially in the context of deepening trade negotiations and economic relationships. Both countries have been moving towards a temporary trade agreement, while at the same time, extending their cooperation in strategic areas like defense and critical technologies.

It is believed that the trip is a continuation of bilateral discussions and raising through proper dialogue would bring required attention to issues that have been a sticking point so far. This meeting is not only about foreign ministers but will have a very wide area of people involved for different subject matter expertise and a very detailed program has been drawn for over the three days.

They will talk about recent situations of the regions and global issues that interest both of them in order to strengthen their coordination at international forums through this visit. The visit also makes clear the importance of high level diplomatic meetings at regular intervals between India and the US for keeping bilateral relations going.

As the topmost official in India's External Affairs Ministry, Misri is responsible for not only giving the strategic direction to the policy but also strengthening coordination among different sectors which makes these visits very important to move forward in terms of the long-term strategy.
