Hindustan Zinc Limited has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Virginia Tech to advance research aimed at enhancing silver recovery across its lead–zinc concentrator operations.
The Hindustan Zinc Virginia Tech MoU focuses on silver recovery innovation, advancing Hindustan Zinc mining research and silver extraction technology through a strategic mining partnership India and Virginia Tech mining collaboration, strengthening Hindustan Zinc R&D.
The exchange filing announced a partnership that will conduct scientific research to develop better flotation methods which serve as essential mineral processing techniques for valuable metal extraction from mined ore and to test the efficiency of chemical substances that processing plants use during their operations.
The partnership will deliver operational benefits by enhancing concentrate quality and metal recovery and processing efficiency at Hindustan Zinc operational facilities. Virginia Tech researchers will collaborate with Hindustan Zinc personnel to investigate how metallurgical conditions affect flotation selectivity and metal recovery outcomes.
The research team’s main focus will be to investigate how reagents and minerals and water interact because this interaction affects both stabilization of the processing system and quality of the extracted final product.
