Synopsis: India and Poland hold high-level talks in New Delhi to deepen their Strategic Partnership, focusing on trade, investment, defence, technology, counter-terrorism, and political cooperation while reviewing progress under the 2024–2028 bilateral Action Plan.

India and Poland have reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation across key strategic sectors during high-level talks held in New Delhi. The discussions focused on strengthening political engagement, trade and investment, defence, technology, culture, and counter-terrorism, reflecting the growing momentum in the India-Poland Strategic Partnership established in 2024.

The meeting was attended by Secretary (West) in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Sibi George, Poland's Secretary of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Wladyslaw T. Bartoszewski, and Under Secretary of State in Poland's Ministry of Economic Development and Technology Michal Baranowski. Additional Secretary in the MEA Pooja Kapur and senior officials from both countries also participated in the discussions.

According to the MEA, the talks covered a broad range of issues aimed at enhancing cooperation in political dialogue, economic engagement, defence collaboration, technological innovation, cultural exchanges, and joint efforts to combat global terrorism. Both sides reiterated their commitment to implementing the India-Poland Strategic Partnership and advancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest through regular high-level engagements.

The discussions also reviewed progress made under the five-year Action Plan (2024-2028), which serves as the roadmap for bilateral cooperation following the elevation of ties to a Strategic Partnership during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Poland in August 2024. The framework prioritises collaboration in defence and security, trade and investment, sustainable technologies, innovation, science and technology, education, and people-to-people exchanges.

The latest meeting builds on a series of high-level interactions between the two countries in recent months. During a visit to Warsaw earlier this year, Additional Secretary Pooja Kapur held discussions with Polish officials on strengthening political engagement and expanding cooperation in sectors such as electric vehicles, mining, shipping, and opportunities arising from the proposed India-European Union Free Trade Agreement.

Both countries expressed confidence that closer cooperation would further strengthen economic ties and strategic collaboration in emerging sectors. The dialogue reaffirmed the shared commitment of India and Poland to deepen bilateral relations through sustained political engagement, enhanced business partnerships, defence cooperation, technological collaboration, and coordinated efforts to address regional and global challenges. The meeting also underscored the importance of maintaining regular consultations to ensure the effective implementation of the Strategic Partnership and its long-term objectives.
