India to Host Bharat Renewable Energy Summit 2026
India will host the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo 2026 in New Delhi from November 2–5, bringing together global leaders to promote renewable energy, green hydrogen, innovation, investment, and international clean energy collaboration.
The Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo (BRE Summit & Expo) 2026 would be held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, between November 2 and 5 with an objective of encouraging the international cooperation of policymakers, industry executives, investors, researchers, and innovators on the issue of renewable energy. Talking about the upcoming event, the Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy of India, Mr. Pralhad Joshi stated that the summit would be an important platform for India’s leadership in clean energy and the strengthening of international partnerships for sustainable energy.
The Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo 2026 will, for the first time, bring together three major international events related to renewable energy on a common platform namely, the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo 2026, 9th Session of ISA Assembly, and 4th ICGH. The event will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, emphasizing the criticality of renewable energy from India’s perspective.

The summit will be attended by stakeholders along the entire renewable energy value chain, such as renewable energy producers, technology companies, equipment makers, battery storage companies, green hydrogen companies, financiers, international agencies, and investors. The goal is to facilitate partnerships on technology, drive innovations, get investments, and engage in policy discussions that will foster clean energy infrastructure development. Invitations to attend the summit have been extended to 34 countries, whereas 128 countries have received invitations to take part in the Assembly of the International Solar Alliance.
Emphasizing the progress of India in the renewable energy field, Joshi mentioned that India is at the cusp of breaking the 300 GW barrier in terms of the non-fossil fuels power installed capacity. Additionally, he mentioned that PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana will help in benefiting more than 50 lakh families in the coming weeks.
The Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy, Shripad Yesso Naik, underlined the crucial part played by states in promoting India’s renewable energy growth. As examples, he cited the efforts of Rajasthan towards solar energy, the emergence of the world’s largest hybrid renewable energy plant at Khavda in Gujarat, as well as the progress made in hydropower, floating solar, biomass, and decentralized renewable energy in various states. In turn, the MNRE Secretary, Santosh Kumar Sarangi, presented the roadmap for the next step in India’s transition towards clean energy, which involves hybrid renewable energy projects, battery energy storage, floating solar, agrivoltaics, and National Green Hydrogen Mission.

In the curtain-raiser, the ministry presented the logo of the summit, 'URJHA Chakra', and the online portal as well as mobile application of the event. The Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo 2026 will be developed into one of the best platforms in the world for collaboration in the field of clean energy by promoting investments, forging technology partnerships, and facilitating international cooperation. As India builds up its capabilities in renewable energy, this summit will further solidify India's role as one of the key players in the clean energy world.
