India-UK Boost Defence Ties After Key Talks

India and the UK have made further efforts in bolstering defence collaboration after Anil Chauhan and Harvey Smyth met for high-level discussions during the latter’s trip to India. The talks concentrated on strengthening bilateral defence relations, particularly in the air sector.
Both sides stressed the importance of increasing training exchanges, operational collaboration, and strategic coordination between the Indian Armed Forces and the UK’s Royal Air Force. One of the major aspects of the discussion was the ongoing exchange of instructors and training staff, which has become the main pillar of the India-UK defence cooperation.
The two parties also pointed out the advancement in defence intelligence sharing, which indicates that they are working to increase interoperability and joint preparedness. The conversation is a follow-up on the growing strategic alignment between the two countries.
