MoD Signs Rs 5,083 Cr Deals for HAL Helos, Shtil Missiles
- The Ministry of Defence signed ₹5,083 crore contracts for six ALH Mk-III maritime-role helicopters with HAL

The Ministry of Defence recently, has signed contracts totaling ₹5,083 crore to enhance India’s maritime defence capabilities, including maritime-role helicopters for the Indian Coast Guard and Vertical Launch Shtil missiles for the Indian Navy.
The MoD defence deal 5083 crore includes a HAL helicopter contract and a Shtil missile deal India, reflecting ongoing defence procurement India initiatives through Ministry of Defence contracts, enhancing Indian Navy missiles capabilities and supporting overall defence modernization India.
The contract with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) worth ₹2,901 crore includes six ALH Mk-III (Maritime Role) helicopters which the company will deliver under the Buy (Indian-Indigenously Designed, Developed, and Manufactured) system.
The package includes operational-role equipment, engineering support, and performance-based logistics. The twin-engine helicopters are built to conduct maritime security missions from both shore bases and ship decks which enhance the Coast Guard's capability to protect offshore installations, artificial islands, fishermen and marine ecosystems.

The project will create over 200 MSMEs and provide approximately 65 lakh man-hours of employment which will help India achieve its Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India goals.
The Ministry signed a contract worth ₹2,182 crore with JSC Rosoboronexport of Russia to acquire Surface-to-Air Vertical Launch Shtil missiles and associated missile-holding frames.
The Navy will obtain assistance through this acquisition which enables frontline warships to operate advanced air-defence systems that track and target aerial threats across all types of weather conditions, while maintaining multiple defence systems onboard their vessels. The agreement also underscores the longstanding defence partnership between India and Russia.
The Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh attended the New Delhi contract signing, which represents a major advancement for India's maritime security modernization, while supporting local defence production and international defence collaborations.
