  • Inox Wind-KP Energy MoU for 2.5 GW wind-solar hybrids
  • IWL handles WTGs & O&M; KP leads land, approvals, EPC
  • Boosts India’s 500 GW renewable energy goal by 2030

Inox Wind Limited (IWL) has partnered with KP Energy through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop 2.5 GW of wind-solar hybrid power projects across multiple Indian states, marking a significant step in scaling renewable energy infrastructure. The‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ alliance combines the best of Inox Wind's technological know-how in the production of high-efficiency wind turbine generators (WTGs) with the engineering of KP Energy, which is already established in the field of project development and execution.

Inox Wind's WTGs along with the related equipment will be supplied by the company. Besides this, Inox Wind will provide engineering support at all levels right from the ultramegastructure design, transformer specifications, and foundation engineering to pre-commissioning, commissioning, and finally, long-term operations and maintenance (O&M) services.

KP Energy completes the rest of the project on the ground, such as obtaining land, connecting to the grid, getting statutory approvals, and carrying out the full balance of plant (BoP) EPC work. This ensures the wind and solar assets are smoothly integrated, thus, providing optimal energy output and meeting grid requirements.

According to Kailash Tarachandani, Group CEO (Renewables) at INOXGFL Group, the collaboration benefits Inox Wind’s manufacturing excellence and KP Energy’s execution capabilities to go large-scale hybrid projects with confidence. Faruk G Patel, Managing Director of KP Energy, remarked that the alliance forms a strong foundation that could deliver complex wind-solar projects efficiently and rapidly at a large scale.

The move is a direct shot at India's ambitious target of 500 GW non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030 and also takes advantage of the country's enormous wind-solar hybrid potential which is estimated to be more than 300 GW. By making the best use of land and grid, the partnership is set to lower the costs while at the same time, boosting the energy's reliability and contributing to the environment-friendly development of the country. It will also have a positive impact on the renewable sector through job creation and technological ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌advancement.
