NLC India Ltd. (NLCIL) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with National Aluminium Company (NALCO), which operates as a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Mines, to strengthen their partnership in developing thermal and renewable energy initiatives.

The MoU was formalized in the presence of NLCIL Chairman and Managing Director Prasanna Kumar Motupalli and Jagdish Arora, Director (Projects and Technical) at NALCO.

The NLCIL NALCO MoU strengthens PSU collaboration in thermal energy and renewable energy India, supporting clean energy projects, advancing the power sector India, and driving energy transition toward sustainable power.

The two companies will work together according to the agreement to develop a 1,200 MW Thermal Captive Power Project and renewable energy projects, which will provide NALCO with the necessary power resources through an economical and trustworthy sustainable solution.

The partnership establishes a structure for investigating permanent power solutions, which include both captive and group captive systems, while obtaining long-term coal supply contracts to maintain energy and fuel protection for designated projects.

The MoU establishes an arrangement for combined project development work, which includes the option to create a Joint Venture company that will execute designated projects.

The partners intend to use their natural resource management systems to create energy security measures which will help India achieve its industrial development and environmental protection targets.

NLCIL states that NLCIL and the other partner organization will work together to build their operational capabilities, which will enable them to use their specialized skills and industry knowledge to execute major power projects.

Both the companies will use their combined capabilities in thermal and renewable energy to develop projects which will fulfill industrial energy requirements and support India's clean energy and sustainability objectives.
