SECI, PTC India Sign MoU to Boost Renewable Power

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and PTC India Limited took a significant step in their partnership recently by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will allow for the establishment of a framework for collaboration with the aim of integrating renewable energy and enhancing the operation of the power market in India.

The main areas of focus for the partnership include renewable energy grid integration, power market solutions, battery energy storage systems, structured power products, and the joint development of large-scale renewable and storage projects.

The partnership intends to provide greater flexibility to the power system, allow the incorporation of renewable energy and storage solutions without any disruptions, and also create a favorable environment for the adoption of market-based mechanisms for efficient power procurement and distribution.

The collaboration is expected to help not only in the reliability upgrade of the grid and also in the large-scale deployment of energy storage technologies but also to speed up India's transition to become a clean energy country and subsequently help it achieve its renewable energy targets.

The signing of the MoU took place under the presence of high-ranking officials from both organizations, when the agreement was finally signed by Shri Prashant Soni, Deputy General Manager (Project Management) of SECI, and Shri Bikram Singh, Executive Director (Marketing) of PTC India Limited.

The primary purpose of this partnership is to promote the country’s use of renewable energy through a more reliable electric grid and large-scale energy storage, among other innovative products. All these developments are in line with India’s commitment to a sustainable and clean energy future.
