
India-US Energy Talks Focus on Growth-Linked Priorities

Consul D C Manjunath showed that US industrial partners must work together to provide India with cost-effective energy solutions while advancing environmentally sustainable technologies. According to D C Manjunath, India wants to achieve permanent energy security because it serves as the foundation for all economic progress.
The Consulate General of India in Houston organized a US-India Energy Roundtable to discuss the Global Energy Outlook 2026 with the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum as its partner organization.
The India-US energy talks aim to strengthen an energy corridor aligned with India energy priorities, reinforcing the US India partnership through deeper energy cooperation, expanded renewable energy India initiatives, enhanced clean energy collaboration, and stronger strategic energy ties.
The meeting took place behind closed doors and included more than 30 top executives from important worldwide energy, engineering and technology companies, which included ExxonMobil, Chevron, Honeywell, GAIL, Larsen & Toubro, Weatherford, LanzaTech, S&P Global, and McKinsey.
The roundtable serves as a platform for CGI to establish a dialogue space where government officials and business executives can work together to solve their common energy problems while discovering new business prospects. The document established energy and technology collaboration between the two nations as the primary engine that would drive their two-year trade partnership.

Businesses such as LanzaTech and Honeywell demonstrate increasing interest in sustainable aviation fuels and carbon recycling technologies which are important for India's industrial and aviation industries.
The parties involved in the discussions examined worldwide energy supply and demand patterns together with infrastructure funding requirements and policy regulations to establish stronger business relationships between American energy companies, Indian government entities and private organizations.
Prasanna V Joshi from ExxonMobil revealed his forecasts, which indicated that India would experience continuous energy demand growth because of industrial development, urbanization and increasing electricity needs.
India needs to develop LNG infrastructure while expanding power generation capabilities and implementing new technologies to satisfy increasing industrial and data center power requirements.
