OnePlus, BPL Partner to Manufacture Premium Tablets in India
- OnePlus teams with Bhagwati Products to make tablets locally in India
- This expands OnePlus’ ‘Made in India’ efforts beyond smartphones
- Local production boosts supply chain and pricing in India’s tablet market
OnePlus has revealed that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Bhagwati Products Ltd (BPL), the fastest growing electronics manufacturing services (EMS) leader in India with great prominence, that will manufacture its premium tablets locally in India.
This partnership represents a large step forward for OnePlus 'Made in India' program, showcasing OnePlus' commitment to high quality manufacturing, while generating beautifully designed technologies for Indian and global consumers.
As a result of this partnership, OnePlus Pad 3 and the OnePlus Pad Lite - OnePlus' newest Premium Tablets - will now be manufactured at BPL's elite manufacturing in Greater Noida. These tablets further consolidate OnePlus position in the premium tablet category and continue the development of a seamless connected ecosystem with multiple devices.
It fits into OnePlus’ Project Starlight, a recently announced initiative to increase local manufacturing capabilities and embed itself within a country. Previously, OnePlus focused on local production of smartphones, but this marks the first time the company is producing large-screen devices in India.

Robin Liu, CEO of OnePlus India, called the partnership a "strategic milestone" in the growth of the company in India. For BPL, which already collaborates with multiple global brands, partnering with OnePlus only emphasizes its knowledge of precision engineering.
Liu stated, "By localizing tablet production, we are not only reinforcing our commitment to India, but also creating meaningful value for our user community. This partnership reflects our long-term vision to innovate for India, invest in India, and grow with India".
"This milestone not only marks the addition of OnePlus to our customer portfolio but also the introduction of a new form factor to our manufacturing expertise. We look forward to a long-term, mutually rewarding partnership", added Vikas Jain, Co-Founder of Bhagwati Products Ltd.
Due to the tremendous growth in the premium tablet market in India, domestic manufacturing allows OnePlus to scale their production, improve supply chain operations, and react quickly to consumer demand. Analysts believe this could also help OnePlus price competitively while keeping to premium quality.
The OnePlus Pad 3 and Pad Lite will consolidate OnePlus' presence in India's premium device market as it continues to develop integrated ecosystems of smartphones, wearables, tablets, and accessories.
