Piyush Goyal to Visit Berlin For India-Germany Trade Talks

Recently, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will embark on an official visit to Berlin, Germany, representing a new and important chapter in India–Germany relations, where in 2025 India and Germany will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the India–Germany Strategic Partnership.

The objective of the Minister's visit is to further broaden and deepen economic relations and to develop impactful high-level engagement with officials, industry leaders, and business associations in both countries.
The trip highlights strategic partnership 25 years, trade talks Germany, investment collaboration, India foreign relations, and developments in international trade news.
In addition to the bilateral meetings with Katherina Reiche, Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany, and Levin Holle, Economic & Financial Policy Adviser at the Federal Chancellery of Germany, and G7 and G20 Sherpa for Germany on expanding trade, investment and strategic economic cooperation, the Minister will also be meeting with Xavier Bettel, Deputy Prime Minister of Luxembourg, for discussions on bilateral trade, the upcoming state visit of Luxembourg to India, region developments and current global issues.

Goyal is set to speak at the third Berlin Global Dialogue (BGD), which is an annual meeting of leaders in government, business, and academia. He will engage in the panel Leaders’ Dialogue: Growing Together – Trade and Alliances in a Changing World, where participants will discuss potential ways of adapting within the context of a changing global trading environment, and how to build sustainable trading ecosystems eventually.
Among the highpoints of the visit are one-on-one meetings with CEO’s of various major German companies, including Schaeffler Group, Renk Vehicle Mobility Solutions, Herrenknecht AG, Infineon Technologies AG, Enertrag SE, and Mercedes-Benz Group AG. He will also chair a roundtable with the leaders of German Mittelstand companies and meet representatives of the Federation of German Industries (BDI) and the Asia-Pacific Association of German Business.
The ministry stated, "These interactions will provide a platform to explore synergies, facilitate investments, and promote stronger business-to-business linkages, particularly in sectors aligned with sustainability, innovation, and advanced manufacturing".
The visit is also indicative of the deepening strategic articulation that India has with its partners in Europe, as it begins to operationalize commitments made at the high level into sustainable economic partnerships.
