  • Rajasthan allocates 65 acres for ₹1,200 Cr e-bus plant in Ghiloth.
  • First state facility; produces e-buses, batteries, motors.
  • Boosts jobs, green transport; aligns with Make in India.

Following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, the Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) has allotted Kotputli-Behror district land to PMI Electro Mobility Solutions for setting up a ₹1,200 crore electric bus manufacturing unit, the first such dedicated plant in the state. The allotment facilitated by RIICO marks a significant move towards industrial growth and the promotion of clean mobility in the area.

To start with, PMI Electro Mobility Solutions plans to produce electric buses, bus bodies, motors, batteries, wire harnesses, and other essential parts with a ₹1,200 crore investment. Along with the direct and indirect employment opportunities, the initiative is likely to empower the youth of Rajasthan and local supply chains will become more robust.

The project, as per the Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, perfectly fits the framework of the ‘Make in India’ programme spearheaded by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “This plant will not only make Rajasthan a major hub for electric vehicle manufacturing, but it will also be a powerful instrument of industrial and employment growth,” Sharma said pointing out the state’s resolve to renewable energy and eco-friendly urban transport solutions.

Once up and running, the plant is slated to become a major contributor to electric mobility in Rajasthan and hence, India’s EV market which is growing at a fast pace, is expected to be worth $200 billion by 2030. The project by encouraging local manufacturing lessens the demand for imports and hence, the effort for India to be self-reliant in clean energy technologies is being supported. The impetus given here is very much in line with the federal government’s plans to promote EV adoption and build infrastructure thus making Rajasthan a front-runner in clean transport innovation.
