The successful execution of Operation Sindoor has led Warsaw to seek advanced drone technology development through a partnership with New Delhi, which will enhance defense ties between India and Poland.

The recent Poland India drone collaboration, following the Operation Sindoor success, is set to explore joint drone manufacturing and strengthen the India defense technology partnership, expanding Poland defense cooperation and boosting UAV production India capabilities.

A senior Polish official said Poland is keen to expand defense ties with India beyond conventional equipment sales toward long-term strategic collaboration, including joint development and an unmanned systems manufacturing.

Michał Baranowski, Under Secretary at Poland's Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, said the country possesses some of the world's advanced drone technologies used in surveillance, combat missions and loitering munitions. The two countries will develop these capabilities through joint ventures between their respective companies, which will share their existing technology.

Poland is planning to shift its defense production operations to India under New Delhi's Make in India program during the next few months. The planned partnership will involve technology transfer, domestic production capabilities and international market sales of their collaboratively developed systems.

WB Group, one of Poland's top defense companies, operates in India through its subsidiary WB Electronics India Pvt Ltd, which specializes in drone technology and military electronics.

The desire for stronger partnerships increased after Indian forces conducted precision missile and drone strikes against terrorist facilities in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir during Operation Sindoor, which took place in May 2025.

The two countries have developed stronger diplomatic relations. The two nations established a strategic partnership after Narendra Modi visited Poland in 2024, and Donald Tusk plans to visit India later this year to enhance their diplomatic relationship.
